The Committee
The Veterans Honor Park Committee is a group of veterans, citizens and City staff, working together to create a monument within the community to honor veterans, providing a place of sanctuary.
“As a World War II veteran, this park is important to me because it honors all veterans - past, present and future who have served or will serve our country to protect the freedoms enjoyed in the United States of America. The Veterans Honor Park strives to acknowledge these sacrifices. We want to provide the brave individuals, their families, and the general public a place to remember those veterans who walk among us every day and those who paid the ultimate price in the service to their country.”
- Lee Wall, U.S. Army & Chair of the Veterans Honor Park Committee
The Veterans Honor Park Committee raised over $500,000 in donations and the City matched an additional $500,000 for the design and construction in 2016. The City also received a grant of approximately $525,000 from the St. Louis County Municipal Parks Grant Commission in 2015.
